The finished Painting

I have finally finished this painting, I call it "Spring" but it was tempting to call it Birdbrain! It is 18" x 24" painted in acrylic with rice paper collage.

Here are my two latest paintings. The top on is Acrylic and rice paper collage, called "Inside out". The bottom is an oil painting called Babirusa's Birthday". Babirusa are wild asian pigs, they have tusks growing strait out of there heads, I thought it would be more fun to have trees instead of tusks.

Here is a quick pic of the finished painting Babirusas Birthday.

Well here it is the first week of a new year and to kicking it off with an oil painting. My working title is Babirusa"s Birthday; that my change.  If you don't already know of the Babirusa is a wild Indonesian pig, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Sulawesi_babirusa with wonderful strange tusks. I'm enjoying turning these tusks into a small forest, that something will inhabit, I just don't know what  yet. This painting will be done in oil, the first I've done in a long time. I'm enjoying the change, the slick creaminess of the paint. But I must admit the slower drying time of oil is a bit frustrating.
